Board Meeting Minutes and Annual Meeting - June 21, 2014

	Association Annual Meeting - Saturday, June 21st, 2014 The meeting was called to order at 9AM by President Joe Lightowler in the Cormorant Community Center. Board Members Present: Joe Lightowler, Sam Blattenbauer, Carol Anhorn, Randy Christianson, Jenni Barr, Jim Colbert, Steve Busch, Lyle Hanson, Merle Zimmerman, Ramona Borke, and Tom Riedman. The minutes were approved as read by Carol Anhorn. The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read by Randy Christianson, Treasurer and filed. Kim Belgard was introduced as the director of YMCA Camp Cormorant and Kamp Kase. She reported that the Kamp Kase Fishing event would take place in June and they needed more volunteers with pontoons to accommodate the kids for fishing. Becker County Sheriff Deputies John Sieling and Adam Douglas updated attendees on water safety and the AIS inspections at the West and North Accesses that are going on through the summer. Todd Landry, candidate for Becker County Sheriff, was introduced. Ellis Peterson presented an update on the Cormorant Watershed District. Joe Lightowler gave a report on the proposal for Eunice Township and Audubon Fire Department which is being considered. No vote required. Carol Anhorn gave an update on the Beach Captains and BCLA clothing available. Joe Lightowler reported on the DNR cancellation of partnering with BCLA for inspections and the alternative options that are in use for funding. Lyle Hanson provided an update on the inspections and personnel doing the inspections through Becker County. Lyle Hanson reported on the help the BCLA Foundation is providing for the inspections and encouraged donations to the Foundation as tax deductible. Attendees were encouraged to check out the website and friend BCLA on Facebook. A comment was made that it would be nice to have the marker buoys out by opening fishing. Butch Anton is paid a minimal fee to put these out and because of the late thaw they were late this year again. Joe Lightowler announced that he was resigning from the board and turned the meeting over to VP Sam Blattenbauer. Sam Blattenbauer presented Joe with a gift certificate for his years of service to the lake association. Sam Blattenbauer presented the slate of officers. Dennis Erdle motioned to approve the election of new board members AaronStenerson, Jeff Strand and Brant Wilson plus returning members Tom Riedman, Steve Busch and Reuben Tschritter. Ellis Peterson seconded the motion. Motion approved. Other Business: The attendees applauded the new format of the meeting earlier in the day with coffee and donuts instead of the chicken dinner. Jim Colbert announced the 4th of July Parade will again start at the North Access. Greg Nelson moved to adjourn. Steve Busch seconded. Meeting adjourned. Ramona Borke seconded the motion to approve the slate of officers as nominated. Motion approved. Jenni Barr will take over Carol’s previous role as head of Beach Captains. Tom Riedman recommended that all board members should attend COLA meetings on a rotating basis as available so more members are aware of what goes on at the meetings. Board members were asked to deliver a copy of the directories to advertisers. An email will go out and volunteers will pick businesses and deliver copies. Directories will be available by contacting Jenni Barr. Lyle gave a report on the Becker County meeting about the string line vote. No final vote was taken Jim will resign from the Foundation Board to avoid a conflict with his new role as BCLA President. Tom Riedman volunteered to be nominated for that position which will be voted on by the Foundation board. Jim Colbert moved to adjourn. Sam Blattenbauer seconded. Meeting adjourned. Association Annual Meeting - Saturday, June 21st, 2014

Board Members Present: Joe Lightowler, Sam Blattenbauer, Carol Anhorn, Randy Christianson, Jenni Barr, Jim Colbert, Steve Busch, Lyle Hanson, Merle Zimmerman, Ramona Borke, and Tom Riedman.

The minutes were approved as read by Carol Anhorn.

The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read by Randy Christianson, Treasurer and filed.

Present: New board members Jeff Strand and Aaron Stenerson and returning members Sam Blattenbauer, Carol Anhorn, Randy Christianson, Jenni Barr, Jim Colbert, Steve Busch, Lyle Hanson, Merle Zimmerman, Ramona Borke, and Tom Riedman.

Jenni Barr presented the new slate of officers: Jim Colbert – President; Sam Blattenbauer – VP; Carol Anhorn – Secretary; Randy Christianson – Treasurer. Ramona Borke seconded the motion to approve the slate of officers as nominated. Motion approved.

Jenni Barr will take over Carol’s previous role as head of Beach Captains.

Tom Riedman recommended that all board members should attend COLA meetings on a rotating basis as available so more members are aware of what goes on at the meetings.
