Big Cormorant Lake Association Minutes of Meeting January 30, 2010

The meeting was called to order by President Joe Lightowler at 10:05 a.m. at The Pub.

Board members present: Carol Anhorn, Steve Busch, Randy Christianson, Dennis Erdle, Darlene Hammond, Lyle Hansen, Joe Lightowler, Sharon Olson, Jason Roth, Jim Colbert, and Rhonda Wilson.

Minutes from the last meeting were approved as emailed.

Treasurer Randy Christianson reported a balance of $27,431.14 as of 12/31/09. Report was approved and filed.

Rhonda reported no changes in the Web site, but continues to request pictures for posting.

Carol and Jason were reminded that this is an important year for updating the database and getting the Beach Captains out to recruit new members as our new directory will be published in 2011.

A directory chair is needed to head the publishing of the directory and act as contact person for advertising sales. Advertising sales will begin in June following the Spring Fling. Carla Blattenbauer will be contacted regarding the last directory and to obtain any information she has filed. She will also be given the opportunity to head the directory committee if she is interested.

Jim Colbert moved that the Board install Steve Busch in charge of installing alloy rings with the authorization to spend up to $1000.00. Dennis seconded. Motion carried. Estimates will be obtained from Todd Simison, J&K and others to help with the placement of buoys this spring. Suggested timelines for the buoys are from opening fishing through Labor Day weekend. Lyle volunteered to get the stainless steel for the shackles. Steve will set a date for buoy placement and notify Board members to help.

Joe reported that there will be no news regarding the DNR Grant until February. He will email the information when it becomes available.

Spring Fling is scheduled for June 19, 2010. Board members and Beach Captains are asked to arrive at 8:00 a.m. for set up with the meeting beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The next Board meeting is May 8, 2010 at the Pub at 9:00 a.m. Board members will convene at 9:00 and Beach Captains will be asked to attend at 10:00 in an effort to encourage more active participation on their respective beaches and encourage more lake owners to pay Association dues.

Darlene moved to adjourn the meeting. Jason seconded. Meeting adjourned
